Coronation Gold

Worked in metal  threads onto red cotton velvet.

Coronation Gold is so called because the Royal School of Needlework produced  the Goldwork for the Coronation robe of Queen Elizabeth II (as well as earlier robes). We learn these techniques, based on the designs of Peace and Plenty in case we are called upon again for a coronation.
